About

I got into radio at 36 here in San Diego, starting out with GMRS before making the jump into ham radio. What pulled me in was the mix of technology, learning, and the simple fun of making real connections over the air.

Once I got interested, I started studying for my license and went down the rabbit hole of frequencies, propagation, gear, and operating practices. Since then, radio has become one of those hobbies that keeps opening new doors, there’s always something new to learn, build, or try.

Being in San Diego makes it even better. Between the local radio community and the amazing spot on the coast, it’s been a great place to get on the air and keep exploring what this hobby can do.

Vote System Reset

Just a heads up — the vote system (thumbs-up) has been reset.

We ran into some technical issues during a recent upgrade, and unfortunately, we had to wipe the previous vote data to get everything running smoothly again.

We know this might be a bummer for some of you, especially if your posts had built up a lot of votes. We're working hard to make sure the new setup is more stable moving forward.

Thanks for sticking with us and for being part of the HamLike community!
